NEXT YEAR FOR SAM
This is our roadmap for the next 12 months. With a focus on momentum and impact, we’ll anchor the year around three flagship events—all designed to support our current fundraising goals and community mission. In addition to these cornerstone events, SAM will host one board meeting per season, along with 2–3 strategic sit-downs with key players in Montana’s skateboarding scene. The goal: keep building, stay visible, and strengthen our network across the state.
ANNUAL EVENTS
Our flagship fall contest is back and bigger than ever! Shredtember 2025 will once again take over Kirk Park with best trick jams, live music, food vendors, community booths, and rad prizes. This year, we’re fundraising for a new skatepark to replace BYEP, set to break ground in Spring 2026. Come skate, spectate, and support the next evolution of Montana skateboarding.
Winter Skate Nights are a community-driven indoor skateboarding series designed to keep Montana’s skate scene active, inspired, and growing during the colder months. Hosted weekly from December through mid-February. Live music, rotating art stations, food, contests, and camaraderie. All proceeds support SAM’s ongoing mission to expand skateboarding access across the state.
Art. Music. Skateboarding. Community.
The Blank Skate Project is SAM’s flagship creative fundraiser—a free, all-day community event combining live music, live tattooing, a silent art auction, food, beer, and a high-energy skate contest. Built on the foundation of expression and unity, this project brings Montana’s skate and art scenes together to raise funds for future skate infrastructure—specifically replacement skatepark for BYEP, planned to break ground in Spring 2026.
Event highlights include over 40 artists customizing blank skate decks, a curated live music lineup, incredible food, a local beer garden, and a mini-ramp contest with divisions for all ages. A SAM booth will be onsite sharing our current projects, selling merch, and making it easy for attendees to donate.

ANNUAL MEDIA PROJECTS
THe first sam
The SAM Spotlight Series is our ongoing video project highlighting the people, shops, and stories shaping Montana’s skateboarding culture. Each episode features a local legend, up-and-coming skater, or key community contributor—sharing their journey, vision, and the role skateboarding plays in their lives. With cinematic footage, personal interviews, and thoughtful storytelling, the series documents Montana’s past, present, and future on a board. These videos are designed to inspire, archive skate history, and elevate voices across the state. At this time, the goal is to make at least one or two of these per year. Next up: Jay from World Boards in Bozeman!
A documentary-style video series that dives into the stories behind the concrete. Each episode highlights a skatepark in Montana. Not just showcasing the terrain, but celebrating the people and passion that brought it to life. Through interviews with local skaters, city leaders, and community advocates, we uncover how these parks were dreamed, funded, and built—offering a powerful sense of place, purpose, and stoke.
Each checkout will feature cinematic camera work, crisp wireless audio, and dynamic drone footage to bring the full park experience to life. We aim to produce two episodes per year, helping shine a spotlight on what’s already been built while generating momentum for future skatepark development across the state.
The first episode will feature Kirk Park in Bozeman. An ideal opportunity to also introduce the new skatepark initiative and address the impact of losing BYEP, reinforcing the need for new skateable terrain in Montana’s fastest-growing city.
