SATURDAY APRIL 25th EVENTS

A Big Day for Montana Skateboarding
This April 25th, we are calling on all skaters, artists, and advocates to join us for a day of community building that spans two iconic Montana towns. We’re kicking things off in Livingston with a celebration of the culture and history that brought us here, before heading over the hill to Ennis for a high-energy "final push" fundraiser. It’s a day dedicated to honoring the progress we’ve made and securing the future for the next generation of riders. Grab your boards and your calendars- we’ve got some ground to cover.
Grit to Grind: Art & History in Livingston
Join us at Wheatgrass Books in Livingston (📍) from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM for the "Grit to Grind" Art Show and Benefit. We’ll be hosting authors Andy Kemmis and Chris Bacon for a signing of their new book, Grit to Grind, which chronicles the incredible journey of the Montana Skatepark Association. Stick around for the 4:00 PM live auction, where 20+ artists have turned recycled decks into incredible original works. Every dollar raised goes directly toward supporting the McNair Skatepark and the LFRC’s Summer Lunch in the Park program, ensuring our local kids are fed and our local park is thriving.
Bids & Boards: The Final Push for Ennis
Once the sun starts to dip, meet us at El Western in Ennis (📍) from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM for "Bids & Boards." We are in the homestretch of bringing the Ennis Skatepark to life, and this benefit is the fuel we need to get across the finish line. We’re talking an all-in BBQ buffet, an open bar, and live tunes from Fool’s Gold to keep the energy high. Between the live auction and the dessert auction, there are plenty of ways to contribute to the cause. This is the moment we come together as a community to ensure the Ennis Lions Skatepark becomes a reality. See you there!

Winter Skate Nights gave the Bozeman skate community a place to gather, ride, create, and stay connected through the coldest part of the year. Over 6 weeks, the series welcomed 225 unique skaters, generated 455 total skate sessions, and brought together families, volunteers, artists, and supporters around something much bigger than just skating. This final recap captures the energy, community, and momentum that made the series so special.

The 2026 Deck Show was a hit!
Hosted by Montana State University and Bozeman High School, the Deck Show brought together over 80 artists who transformed skateboard decks into incredible works of art, all to support the Ennis and Bozeman skateparks.
The event highlighted the powerful connection between skateboarding, art, and community, with students, local artists, and skaters filling the room to celebrate creativity and support Montana skateboarding.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated, bid on artwork, and helped make the night such a success!

From the Ground Up...
The roots of SAM run deep in Montana — from early contests to the rise of new concrete.
But for years, the energy faded. Now, under new leadership, SAM is back — and we’re turning up the volume. Our mission is simple: connect skateboarding, art, and music to build stronger, more creative communities. From local events and skate clinics to documentary storytelling and park expansions, we’re laying the foundation for the next generation. One city at a time.
Every dollar makes a difference. Your support helps us build new skateparks, run youth clinics, and create inclusive community events.
We’re always looking for volunteers, artists, instructors, and partners to help run events, teach kids, and bring new ideas to life. Whether you’re behind the camera or behind a clipboard — there’s a role for you here.
The Skateboarding Alliance of Montana (SAM) empowers communities through skateboarding. From new parks to youth programs, we’re creating spaces where people of all back-grounds can roll, connect, and grow — on and off the board.
